چکیده
Background: Febrile seizure (FS) is one of the most common neurologic disorders in children. Electrolyte imbalance especially hyponatremia may have an important role triggering febrile seizure. The measure serum electrolytes will be useful predicting further seizures. This study aimed to investigate effect relative on risk recurrent Methods: prospective was performed 115 children (6-60 months) with convulsions, at pediatric department Ibrahim malik teaching hospital. sodium measured immediately after abortion seizures and each patient followed for 24 hours assessment recurrence. Of children, 47 (40.9 %) develop those majority were males 36 (76.6%) (P=0.01), 52(45.2%) age less than 12 months(P=0.001), 26 (68.4%) parents’ consanguinity(P=0.000), first born child25 (53.2%). mean levels patients attacks, 132.1, 136.1 meq/l, respectively (P=0.00). Conclusions: level ominously lower recurrence group compared non-recurrent group. Measurements diagnosis a key FC Therefore, doctors should careful during fluid administration patients.

متن کاملSerum Prolactin Level after Febrile Seizure versus Epileptic Seizure in 6-Month-Old to 5-Year-Old Children
Background: Serum prolactin level has been used as an alternative determinant to help differentiate epileptic from non-epileptic seizures. We aimed to analyze the association between serum prolactin concentration and epileptic seizure versus febrile seizure as well as seizure duration, single versus multiple seizure attacks and time lapse between seizure onset and blood sampling. Methods: Seven...
